About Melissa

Through her own life experience, Melissa Shaver knows the importance of growing in the Lord through the personal study of His Word. Through her writing and speaking she has had the privilege to see others develop a new appreciation for Bible study, prayer and fellowship. Her purpose is to bring communities together with one goal - to fully experience and richly know Jesus Christ.

Before focusing on Walking in Grace Ministries, Melissa worked in corporate America specializing in marketing and communications. Because of this, she has a unique ability to bring audiences together as a community yet speak to them individually in relation to where they are today. Her desire is to create an environment with focus and purpose so that women can realize their incredible significance in Christ and begin to live out the purpose He has for each one of them.

She is currently attending Dallas Theological Seminary. She lives outside of Dallas, Texas in McKinney with her husband of 15 years and 3 beautiful children.

_____________________________

Melissa had the tough task of relating to 20 of our program women, many of whom are street-hardened, no-nonsense recovering addicts who often are quick to dismiss others or put up defensive walls. Within hours, though, Melissa's genuine love for God and her straight-forward, solid teaching broke down their walls and allowed them to see the true Christ. I can't begin to describe their smiles and tears, but their chants of "Preacher Girl!" are still echoing through our halls. I am grateful for Melissa's ministry to women, and I know 20 women who will never forget her.

Our Mission

The mission of Walking in Grace Ministries is to create Bible study tools and GraceTalk devotionals that will assist women in following Christ. We believe that a relationship with Jesus Christ will change your life...for eternity...and it will give you all you need to be a better wife, mother and friend. Christ is all truth, righteousness and hope that each one of us need.

We are here to help you see your significance in Christ.

Be transformed through the work of the Holy Spirit.

What We Believe

The Bible
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

The Trinity
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is completely God and completely man. He lived a sinless life, and he died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Father, He now is our High Priest and Advocate.

The Holy Spirit
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, give life to the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.

Man and Sin
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore separated from God both physically and spiritually and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

Salvation
We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. That He paid for our sins, not based on human merit, works, or religious ceremony. We believe that anyone who has placed their faith in Christ is eternally secure, has everlasting life, will not come into condemnation, and shall never perish. We believe that assurance comes to the believer from three primary sources: trusting the Word of God’s promises, the witness of the Holy Spirit, and a persevering walk with the Lord.
